What's up?

Hey everyone! Wow, Diabetes Cuteness is getting seen! Weird to me, but cool 😊

πŸ“±I have an Instagram for DC: cutediabetes I will definitely try to link to statigram soon!

My homecoming is Saturday! Yay!!!!!πŸ‘—

I almost ran out of cartridges this week due to insurance/shipping issues πŸ˜“ and I don't know anyone with the same cartridges near here... They should come soon! (what?!?! No emoji for fingers crossed!)

I am trying to run more ( like 2 miles/ 5 ish days / week) and mixing powerade and powerade zero is a great way to stay hydrated and keep stable bg with a 50% basal reduction . Not medical advice✋ but I also tend to get crazy stings of lows 9 hours after a run... πŸƒ

This was my Monday crazy thoughts from my iPod. I'm crazy today... I know πŸ™‹πŸ˜ŠπŸŽΆπŸŽˆ

Friday 5!

Hello everyone! Finally posting again! It's my Friday 5 today.. ( like Friday 6?  I love Six Until Me! )

Anyway, here we go:

 1.  Meter Fashion- As you might know, I have a One Touch Ping System. My pump is pink (cute!!!!!) and my meter/remote doesn't come in colors. BUT there are skins for the meters. I had a coupon for a free pump skin, but the way I wear my pump, I don't think it would get used, so I ordered a meter skin instead. I got a purple one :) (Umm yesss. I am such a girl.) I have to say, I love it, it is good protection, and a splash of color.

2.  Reading- Please read Diabetes on the Side. I read a lot of D blogs but this one is cool (: The little girls are so cute! ( I love little kids!)

3.   CGM!- You probably knew this already, but- Dexcom G4 is approved! I am so excited because  I am obviously in love with the things... And colorful? Excuse me? I likes it.  Very excited and hoping my endo likes the idea.

4. Apps-The App Store has a lot of nice aps for BG related stuff.  But honestly my favorite carb-counting app? My Fttness Pal. No contest. Click here for the website. It's actually for calories but they include carbs and there are so many foods!

5. I was low- Last night, after trending high at mn, I was 60 (insert 1/2 juice box, I am super sensitive to sugar @night) retest 42 (whole juice) 55, (1/2 Tbs. Honey) before I came up. It was weird.

Happy bolusing and may the BG's be ever in your favor!

Lilly Glucagon App :)

PLease look it up on the app store :) It's cool. and read my last post on my new love :)

I have a New Love.

Me making faces at my camera for this post. And quick editing.
Temp basals. Forever. And ever.

Yesterday we were doing hard backstage work in my drama class 1st period. 2nd period, Spanish, I felt low and tested. 76.... Hmmm.... I tried a temp basal, -20% for .5 hrs.
I retested 45 minutes later at 67. Oh well.

Then today. Same drama scenario, halfway through drama I remembered and did -20% for .5hrs. After Spanish I was 96. This is why I love my pump. Animas forever you guys <3

(Okay fine. Medtronic can totally do all this, I made it sound like temp basal is just Animas.... But it's kind of a fake war between me and my friends w/Medtronic pumps, and I love my pump. So there jk)

The Amazing, The Scary, and The Dang It!

D (Well really I) had a crazy day. Pretty eventful :)

The Amazing:
I got out of summer school to find an excited text from my mom. ( ANIMAS CALLED!!!!!) I walked up to Office Depot and she faxed all the forms up. They'recalling back next week for a final confirmation and shipping date!!!!!!!

One Touch Ping-ing soon!
 The Scary:
I went to the doctor for a TB test reading. It was pink and I was so scared it was positive... Thank goodness it was fine!

And The Dang It!
I never forget my meter, so it came to the Dr... BUT,  my mom or I must have dropped it. At dinner, it was gone, and my lancing device. If you remember this post, you'll see why this is an issue. There's no cap to my spare lancing device. Well there is-but it's the clear top for testing on your palm. So I'm testing VERY carefully. Oh well, I'll get one at Target tommorrow :D

But yes- Pumping soon! I can do careful testing :)

Dexcom?

I want a dexcom pretty bad. And I thought I could try one...

The Diabetes camp I'm going to e-mailed us, asking if I could try a dexcom for the week at camp. I was soooo excited! This is a great opportunity! But when we called to confirm, they turned me down. Apparently I haven't had diabetes long enough to participate. I am so mad. Then the Dexcom website said you have to be 18 (?!?!?!?!?!?!) to use a Dex! What the heck, I have seen so many people with a Dex under 18... And then there's the sensor cost...

Don't worry, I'll keep working on it :)

Screenshots!

Hey everyone!

In Southern California today it's really cold for late May...

and my mom is researching diabetes camp. I'm not sure yet, but I think I'll go.

I am so excited to get my pump, but I have no idea when it'll get approved. Grrr insurance people.

That's my life. How're you?
